The theatre that launched whole generations of artists and put Piatra Neamț on the map of Romanian theatre. The current building went up between 1929 and 1947 to plans by architect Roger Bolomey and has been used as a theatre since 1959.
Professional work began in 1958 on the stage of the Roxy Hall, with the opening production "Scapino's Tricks" (directed by David Esrig). In 1961 it became an independent theatre, and in 1967, after a tour of West Germany, it took the name that came to define it: the Youth Theatre.

Built with local public funds, the building was designed from the outset as a theatre and stands in the city centre, next to the Princely Court. Since 1967 the theatre has used the "2T" symbol, which became its official logo in 2007.
