An extraordinary ride
The Piatra Neamț cable car gives you a wide view of the city and the countryside around it. The route starts from the station next to the railway station and climbs to the Cozla plateau, 632 metres above sea level. On the way up the view changes little by little, from the historic centre and the city's buildings to the parks and the wooded slopes of the mountain. The ride takes a few minutes and is calm and safe, on a modern, environmentally friendly transport system. At the top you can take in a 360° panorama of the whole city, Lake Bâtca Doamnei and Mount Ceahlău. It is one of the best-loved experiences in the area, for visitors and locals alike.
The ride
From the cable car you can see every detail of the city. The route starts in the centre and climbs towards the Cozla plateau, giving you a full picture of the streets, buildings and green spaces. As the cabin rises, the city settles more clearly into the landscape, and the contrast between built-up and green areas shows how well balanced the place is. At the top the view takes in everything and explains why Piatra Neamț is counted among the most beautiful cities in Romania.

The vision begins
Piatra Neamț City Hall starts modernising the city's tourism infrastructure to make the most of its natural and urban potential.
Perla Invest is founded
Perla Invest is set up to manage and develop the city's main tourist attractions, including the cable car, the ski slope and the leisure complexes.
The project starts
Work begins on the project "Developing tourism infrastructure on Cozla Hill – phase I", worth 54,408,218 lei in total, a decisive step in turning the area into a modern tourist attraction.
The cable car opens
Telegondola Piatra Neamț officially opens, becoming the first system of its kind in the Moldavia region.
First day: More than 1,000 visitors tried the new attraction
Over 1 million visitors
After 16 years in service, the cable car passes the mark of 1 million passengers, confirming its place as a symbol of tourism in Neamț and a national landmark.
