The house where the life and work of the writer Calistrat Hogaș (1847–1917) found their permanent home. It keeps his furniture, library, manuscripts, photographs and personal belongings, in a house built in the style of a late 19th-century Moldavian market town.
Calistrat Hogaș settled in Piatra Neamț in 1869, ran the local secondary school and built both his family life and his writing here. The house was rebuilt in 1880 and became a memorial museum in 1969, thanks to a donation from Sidonia C. Hogaș, the writer's daughter.

Calistrat Hogaș (1847–1917) began teaching in Piatra Neamț in 1869 and returned as headmaster in 1870–1871. He married here and stayed connected to the town all his life, and his writings about journeys through Neamț and Ceahlău made his name.
Carry on exploring with a walk through the old town, then take the cable car to see Piatra Neamț just as Calistrat Hogaș described it
